The Department of Information Technology, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree-The American College of Greece is looking for a full-time faculty member at the rank of assistant professor or associate professor depending on qualifications. The candidate must have practical and theoretical knowledge in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Big Data. Responsibilities for the position include lecturing in PG and UG courses, research in a related area, curriculum contribution, and department/Institution service. The position offers the potential to be involved with EU funded R&D projects through the ACG-Research, Technology & Innovation Network (RTIN).
Qualifications:
- PhD related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Data Science, or Big Data Processing.
- Teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate levels, preferably at a US or UK higher education institution.
- A research agenda, a record of publications and/or grant funding.
- Eligibility for Ministry of Education registration number.
Required field knowledge & experience:
- Proficiency in NLP particularly with deep learning techniques.
- Experience in data science and applications.
- Experience with optimization algorithms and techniques.
- Excellent coding skills in a variety of programing languages. Java & python required.
Desired field knowledge and experience:
- Experience with secure software development and high-performance computing.
- Knowledge and experience with cloud computing and technologies.
- Experience with online teaching.
General Skills:
- Dependability.
- A commitment to student-centered learning.
- Ability to contribute to the curriculum of related areas and deliver effective teaching.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
