Responsibilities:
Performs day-to-day activities such as accounting entries, register and filing, bank and other general ledger accounts reconciliations.
Matches and reviews the accuracy of all vendors’ invoices in Company’s ERP system in order to assure their timely payment and control the Company’s cash flow.
Posts all relevant accounting entries under the correct expense categories in order to provide correct information to the Senior Accountants for the preparation of the financial statements.
Performs procedures related to the Greek Law N.89.
Performs bank reconciliation and ensures that cash amounts in accounting ledgers reconcile with actual bank balance.
Checks all invoices and custom regulations, so that the company is granted VAT exemption.
Maintains Greek accounting books and handles all tax issues.
Reviews revenue accounting entries based on their supporting documents, in order to ensure timely closing of accounts.
Posts all relevant accounting entries under the correct expense categories, so as to provide correct information to the Senior Accountants for the preparation of the financial statements.
Prepares, examines and settles vendors’ reconciliations assuring that vendors’ requests are met based on payment agreement and that no delays exist in the accounts payable process.
Prepares the final payment amounts and makes the respective entries of employees’ corporate credit cards assuring the implementation of Company’s “credit card policy”.
Qualifications / Experience:
Bachelor degree in Accounting/ Finance or any relevant field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in various accounting areas (A/R, A/P, general entries, B / C category books).
Experience in the shipping industry will be considered an asset.
Knowledge of Navision will be considered an asset.
Fluency in English.
Computer literacy.
Ability to work under pressure
