The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting reporting, and supporting the company’s accounting strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly in the aviation or transportation industry, and will demonstrate excellent leadership and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the general ledger accounting functions, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and the monthly closing process.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and reporting of all tax returns (corporate income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes)
• Oversee and manage the accurate submission of financial data to the Greek myDATA digital platform
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure that tax-related balances are accurate and up to date
• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency.
• Lead Accounting department by fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
• 6-10 years of as Accountant or Auditor, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience in accounting software packages (SAP) will be appreciated
• Strong knowledge on Tax Legislation, MyData, IFRS and regulatory requirements
• Experience in the aviation or transportation industry or Big4 is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Excel File & any data software)
• Previous experience in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process will be considered an asset
• Fluency in Greek and English (oral and written).
