SCYTALYS is currently looking for a skilled Senior Platform Engineer, who drives backend development for the cyber range platform, focusing on orchestration, automation, and integration with OpenStack.
Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services using Go.
Implement orchestration logic for provisioning, managing, and destroying OpenStack lab environments.
Build REST APIs for frontend integration.
Manage VM image lifecycle (snapshotting, cloning, etc.).
Design, deploy, and maintain VPN infrastructure and remote-access solutions (WireGuard, IPsec, OpenVPN).
Automate VPN onboarding, bastion/jumpbox access, and secure tunnels.
Design and configure L2/L3 networking, VLAN routing, NAT, segmentation, and ACLs.
Ensure secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, logging, and auditing.
Collaborate with scenario/content engineers to translate requirements into backend features.
Produce technical documentation and architecture specifications.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
4+ years of hands-on Go development, including concurrency.
Experience designing distributed systems, orchestrators, or controllers.
Proven experience with OpenStack and relevant APIs.
Understanding of virtualization and cloud automation.
Practical experience with REST, messaging queues, and event-driven systems.
Knowledge of VLANs, routing, NAT, firewalling, and ACLs.
Expertise in VPN technologies and remote-access design (WireGuard, IPsec, OpenVPN).
Evidence of building complex backend systems.
Ability to operate independently and make architecture-level decisions.
Nice to Have: Experience with Terraform, Ansible, cyber range tooling, Kubernetes/Docker.
