The Packaging Engineer designs, develops, and optimizes packaging solutions to ensure product protection, cost efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop packaging for new and existing products (primary, secondary, tertiary).
Evaluate materials, designs, and suppliers to optimize cost, performance, and sustainability.
Conduct packaging tests and document results.
Ensure packaging complies with legal, safety, and environmental standards.
Collaborate with R&D, marketing, production, and procurement teams to align on packaging needs.
Support packaging line trials and resolve technical issues.
Maintain packaging specifications and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in packaging processes and materials.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2–5 years of experience in industrial packaging development.
Knowledge of packaging materials (plastics, paperboard, corrugated, films, etc.).
Familiarity with CAD design tools and packaging test methods.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Awareness of sustainability and eco-design principles.
Advanced English knowledge (oral and written)
Advanced knowledge of MS Office; EPR Systems knowledge (preferably SAP) will be considered a plus
