As a Product Manager – Music at Public, you will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy of the Music category, ensuring a competitive product assortment, strong supplier partnerships, and an outstanding customer experience. You will work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, E-commerce, and Store Operations teams to drive sales growth, profitability, and category performance in line with the company's business objectives.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven professional with a passion for music and retail to contribute to the growth of one of Public's key entertainment categories.
Responsibilities:
Own the commercial performance of the Music category, ensuring the achievement of sales, margin, and profitability targets
Develop and execute the category strategy, product assortment, pricing, and promotional plans
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, negotiating commercial agreements and optimizing purchasing conditions
Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, market trends, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and improve category performance
Monitor product lifecycle management, ensuring the right assortment and availability across all sales channels
Collaborate with Marketing to design and execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and seasonal activities
Partner with E-commerce, Visual Merchandising, and Store Operations teams to maximize product visibility and customer engagement
Track competitor activity, pricing, and emerging industry trends to maintain a competitive assortment
Prepare business reviews, forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior management
Work closely with Supply Chain to optimize stock levels, inventory turnover, and replenishment planning.
Ensure product master data accuracy and compliance with internal processes
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. An MSc or MBA will be considered an asset
3–5 years of experience in Product Management, Category Management, Buying, or Commercial roles within Retail, Entertainment, Consumer Electronics, FMCG, or related industries
Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in supplier management and commercial negotiations
Passion for the music industry and a strong understanding of market trends and consumer behavior
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and translate insights into commercial actions
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP knowledge is considered an advantage)
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment
