junior qa automation engineer

As a Junior QA Automation Engineer, your mission is to help deliver high-quality software by designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests. You will work closely with developers, product owners, and QA team members to improve test coverage, support continuous integration, and contribute to building reliable and scalable test automation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Participate actively in an Agile team throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Design, implement, and execute automated test cases for web applications and REST APIs.

• Maintain and enhance the automated test framework and test infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain UI and API automated tests.

• Execute regression test suites and verify bug fixes.

• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira.

• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive, and reusable test cases and test documentation.

• Contribute to the automation of test execution within CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with developers and QA team members to improve software quality and testability.

• Suggest improvements to testing processes, automation frameworks, and QA best practices.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 1–3 years of professional experience in :
  Software development using Java, or
  Manual Software Testing with a strong interest in transitioning to QA Automation.

• Familiarity with UI automation tools such as Selenium.

• Familiarity with API testing and automation using tools/frameworks such as RestAssured or Postman.

• Understanding of software testing principles, test automation, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or similar.

• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases (knowledge of MongoDB is a plus).

• Experience using issue and project tracking tools such as Jira and the Atlassian suite.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies.
