senior software engineer

The Data Science team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to act as a bridge between the Data Science and Engineering teams. As the ideal candidate you will have experience in .NET development and an interest in mathematical and probability concepts.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and implement microservices that will be part of a bigger application stack. 
• Maintain and refactor the Data Science model repository for runtime efficiency and technical scalability. For example, establish (a) robust data contracts, (b) error handling and logging, (c) load/stress testing, (d) unit testing etc.
• Assist the Data Science team with the release process.
• Establish coding best-practices for the Data Science team to follow.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering teams on model integration and NFR implementation.
• Report to the Director of Data Science on workflow and share findings with the Data Science team.

What you’ll bring

• A postgraduate qualification in Computer Science or other quantitative field.
• Experience in .NET development
• Experience with CRUD actions on various data sources (SQL, NO-SQL, streaming or data-lake)
• Be knowledgeable on RESTful APIs and Kafka topics to consume and produce data from .NET microservices
• Experience with version control platforms (e.g. GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket etc.)
• Knowledge of multithreading and asynchronous programming
• Understanding of some modelling techniques (e.g. Probability Distributions, GLMs, Monte Carlo Simulations, Time-Series Analysis etc.)
• Experience in Python development.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• An understanding of betting concepts and markets will be considered a plus.
