The Goal

The Data Science team is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer that will be responsible for creating pre-match and in-play sports betting forecasting models.

What you’ll be doing

• Fetch appropriate data from the data-lake.
• Apply data cleansing methods to identify corrupt or inaccurate data entries.
• Apply Machine Learning techniques to create models for various pre-match and in-play betting markets.
• Implement models in object-oriented programming language.
• Document the process followed.
• Evaluate and maintain existing models.
• Create modelling pipelines in Python based on betting data that automates the model parameters upon demand.
• Collaborate closely with product owners and software developers to move projects from idea to integration.
• Report to the Director of Data Science on workflow and share findings with the Data Science team.
• Communicate with stakeholders and clients the key elements that govern our models.

The Player

What you’ll bring

• A postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or a closely related quantitative field
• 3+ years of working experience or a PhD in a quantitative field
• Experience with various modelling techniques (e.g. Probability Distributions, GLMs, Monte Carlo Simulations, Bayesian Inference, Time-Series Analysis etc.)
• Experience with various supervised/unsupervised/reinforcement learning methodologies (e.g. Neural Networks, Random Forests, GBMs, SVMs etc.)
• Advanced Python (e.g. Numpy, Pandas, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, Keras, PyTorch SciPy etc.), C# and SQL programming skills
• A good understanding of betting concepts and markets
• Experience with version control platforms (e.g. GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket etc.)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Big Data tools (e.g. Apache Hadoop, MongoDB, Cassandra etc.).
• Experience with database management tools.
• Experience with data visualisation platforms (e.g. Tableau, Qlik Sense etc.).
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
