As a Principal SRE with the OpenBet team, you’ll have exposure to these systems, as well as extensive training and mentoring as you take our software and your career to the next level.

Responsibilities:

• Performance authority for an OpenBet platform,

• Accountable for the capacity, performance and reliability of an OpenBet platform

• Contribute performance related knowledge to the shaping of architectural tenets and principles.

• Being aware of and where appropriate applying industry and technology best practice to OpenBet solutions

• Sign-off on team design choices, following agreed architecture / stewardship approach

• Perform critical reviews of complex database schema and code
  Identify and address performance anomalies and their potential causes in monitoring output

• Take ownership of monitoring and observability processes and resolve issues quickly.

• Ownership of technologies and processes for an SRE function.

• Provide input to the delivery plans of SRE objectives

• Introducing new technology/ideas

• Technical leadership outside team e.g. Major Event preparation, monitoring technology authority

• Leading role in the preparation for Major Events

• Escalation point for complex performance related matters

• Escalation point and proactive responder for critical and business impacting incidents

• Presents multiple designs/solutions for complex problems, and able to evaluate accurately the pros & cons

• Provide technical coaching for less experienced engineers - for example reading monitoring output

• Support the recruitment process of technical resources

• Able to review complex work spanning across multiple systems for performance

• Ability to break up problem space and design solutions of any complexity spanning across multiple functions/systems/integrations and turn vaguely defined requirements into solid tasks

• Can lead high priority project and/or incident related problems of high complexity using monitoring and observability principles, and both be able to contribute to solutions or direct the teams in a clear manner

• Coach and direct teams to create solutions with performance, reliability and extensibility in mind.

• Able to assess the relative strengths and suitability of different solutions to performance issues with an appreciation of architectural factors across different languages, operating systems, and technology tools.

• Be up to date with technology trends, in the area of expertise, and use the experience to drive optimal

• Has awareness of and contributes to the team’s backlog for the business unit that is part of.

• Enhances understaning of monitoring and observability principles

• Proactively identify technical debt and inefficiencies in the platform.

• Expertise in infrastructure, layout, scaling and capable of assessing the performance of a platform both in real-time and through interpreting long-term trend data

At least two of:

• Extensive experience in the performance, capacity, and scaling for a platform or preparation of a live

• Experience in solving complex technical problems of non-trivial nature

• Accountable for the preparation, performance and reliability of a top-tier OpenBet platform for Major Events
