storage & backup engineer

NTT Data Greece team is looking for a Storage & Backup Engineer in Athens to work with our clients in the European public sector. As a Storage & Backup Engineer, you will be working to ensure the provision of a service to clients ensuring that their IT infrastructure and systems remains operational through proactively identifying, investigating and resolving technical incidents and problems and to restore service to clients by managing incidents to resolution. 

Your Role: 

• Key contributor in setting roadmaps, developing, and implementing plans for backup and storage solutions across on-premises and multi-cloud environments 
• Key contributor in defining and driving data storage, backup, and recovery initiatives in an efficient and scalable manner, working with all levels to address related requirements, problem escalation/resolution, skills development, and training 
• Continually seeks ways to automate redundant functions to improve quality and efficiencies of tasks 
• Configure, maintain and serve as primary administrator over a SAN/NAS based storage environment. 
• Perform system security hardening, patches, and updates. 
• Implement security policies and procedures. 
• Manage hybrid cloud environments.

Your profile:  

• At least 8+ years of experience in a mid-large infrastructure environment. 
• University degree or equivalent level through experience and professional training. 
• Knowledge with Large Scale Storage Area Network Systems (Design, Build, Operate) e.g. Dell/EMC, NetApp, HDS. 
• Working storage, backup, and recovery experience with Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle RAC, MongoDB, VMware, Terraform, etc. 
• Experience with large-scale storage, backup, and recovery initiatives across on-prem, co-location, and cloud data centers 
• Experience operating Storage Area Network (SAN), and Network Attached Storage (NAS); as well as migrating/consolidating SAN/NAS 
• Extensive Knowledge & Experience on Backup tools & administration (e.g. VEEAM, Veritas NetBackup, OKM, Commvault, Rubrik) 
• Fiber Channel switches Cisco and/or Brocade 
• NFS and Block Storage Experience 
• Strong server platform knowledge in Window and Linux 
• Knowledge of cloud platforms. 
• Experience with automation tools and scripting. 
• Any automated configuration management tool like Ansible 
• Excellent command of the English language (B2 level minimum) 
• On call is required
