Currently we are searching to hire a Head of Licensing who will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team , ensuring all renewable energy projects comply with permitting, environmental and regulatory frameworks.
During your day you will:
Lead and develop a team of experienced Engineers by setting priorities, allocating resources effectively, defining KPIs and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of all permitting and licensing activities.
Act as the primal liaison with national and regional authorities, environmental agencies and grid operators to secure permits and resolve regulatory challenges efficiently.
Ensure full environmental compliance across the operating portfolio by coordinating with O&M teams on the implementation and update of Environmental Terms Approval and monitoring obligations.
Monitor legislative, planning and grid-policy developments and advise management on their strategic impact on the company’s project portfolio.
Define and approve scope of work, budgets and performance indicators for external consultants to ensure effective, cost-efficient technical and permitting support.
Improve internal permitting and licensing processes by developing standardized procedures, document templates and reporting tools that promote transparency and auditability.
Recommend operational improvements, including staffing levels, recruitment priorities and technology upgrades, to maintain a high-performing permitting function
What you need to stand out:
Bachelor’s in Engineering, Environmental Science, Spatial/Urban Planning or related field
Master’s degree in Renewable-Energy Development, Environmental Management or Energy Policy is considered a plus.
Minimum 10 years of experience in leading permitting and early-stage development activities for RES projects
Proven track record in assessing project feasibility, identify permitting and grid risks, structure development timelines and drive projects to investment decision stage.
Strong knowledge of national and EU planning, environmental and grid-connection frameworks, including permitting pathways and regulatory approval processes
Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with the ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.Excellent analytical, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in complex regulatory environments.
