We are currently looking for a Senior Procurement Engineer (Steel Structures & Building Equipment) to join our Procurement team as part of the Thermal Power & HVDC division of Metlen in our offices in Paiania.
Your role will encompass:
Lead and implement procurement strategies for metal and steel construction packages, equipment, and components in large, EPC‑driven energy projects.
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Construction, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align procurement plans with project schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
Perform market analysis and supplier scouting to identify qualified vendors with proven capability in metal constructions.
Manage the supplier prequalification, evaluation, and selection process, assessing cost, quality, delivery capability, technical compliance, and risk.
Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, delivery terms, contractual conditions, and risk mitigation strategies.
Issue RFQs / RFPs, evaluate technical and commercial bids, and prepare award recommendations.
Develop, maintain, and strengthen long‑term strategic supplier relationships, ensuring performance and continuous improvement.
Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies, contractual frameworks, and ethical standards.
What you bring to the role:
5+ years of experience in procurement of steel and metal constructions (fabrication, assemblies, structural steel, etc.), ideally within EPC, energy, heavy industry, or infrastructure sectors.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
Familiarity with TEKLA or similar metal construction / detailing software will be considered a strong asset.
Solid knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Proficiency in MS Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
