To meet current corporate needs, we would like to bring to our team a

Construction Manager - CBU

The Construction Manager will be reporting to the Construction Director of the Construction Business Unit

Our new colleague in this position, will be responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of the construction project. This entails working with a variety of stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate site personnel, equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress.

In general, the Construction Manager, will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Prepare the construction budget
• Prepare the construction time schedule
• Prepare the project execution plan, method statements and quality plan
• Set up the construction site and organize the site team.
• Provide management, supervision and oversight as primary responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and time-schedule/program as well as budget targets for the construction project.
• Prepare the project procurement plan as well as actively collaborate with the procurement manager in the procurement process
• Prepare and issue weekly and monthly progress reporting
• Ensure successful project completion until closeout
• Undertake the by law responsibility as per building permit supervision requirements

You will be a successful candidate for our opening, if you can identify yourself with the following criteria:

Academic Qualifications:

       •     BSc. Degree in Architectural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

      •     Appropriate certifications and industry affiliations relevant to education and experience

Professional Experience:

• Minimum of 10-15 years of practical on site construction related experience which included direct supervision of specific trade subcontractors, project sections and whole projects.
• Experience in support of the procurement/tender process including development/refinement of contract forms as well as a thorough understanding of the change management process.
• Hands-on experience with the coordination of design documents and trade specific shop drawings during construction. 
• An individual who enjoys working in a team environment and understands how to keep team members focused on the project goals i.e. delivery, quality, health & safety, etc.
