Intellectica is recruiting a dynamic Production Manager on behalf of its client, a well‑established industrial organization with a strong international presence in the design and manufacturing of high‑specification pumping systems for infrastructure, energy, and industrial applications. The company operates in a demanding, project‑driven manufacturing environment, delivering tailor‑made mechanical solutions for large‑scale projects worldwide, while consistently investing in engineering excellence, quality, and continuous improvement. Based in Volos, Greece and reporting directly to the Director of Production & Facilities, the successful candidate will assume full responsibility for setting up, organizing, and operating the new production facility, from its early development stage through to full operational maturity
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Planning, organizing, directing, and executing daily operations of the new manufacturing unit, ensuring efficiency, safety, quality, and operational excellence
Leading the setup phase of the facility, including production layout, workflows, equipment installation, and definition of operational standards and procedures
Establishing and managing production planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives, delivery timelines, quality requirements, and cost targets
Building, leading, and developing the production team, including recruitment support, onboarding, training, and performance management
Implementing structured production processes, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to support scalable and autonomous plant operation
Ensuring full compliance with quality, health & safety, and regulatory standards, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Driving productivity, efficiency, and cost‑optimization initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices
Acting as the main operational interface with central production, engineering, and management teams to ensure technical and organizational alignment
Monitoring operational performance, identifying risks or gaps, and proactively implementing corrective and preventive actions
Supporting the gradual organizational and operational maturity of the unit, contributing to its transition toward full independence as a manufacturing site
Any other task that may be required from time-to-time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in production or manufacturing roles within an industrial environment, including responsibility for teams and operations
Proven exposure to setting up, scaling, or significantly restructuring production lines, departments, or facilities
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial workflows, and production planning
Familiarity with safety and quality procedures
Solid knowledge of quality systems, KPIs, and industrial performance metrics
Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational excellence frameworks
Familiarity with MS office and ERP systems
Fluency in both Greek and English
Willingness to collaborate closely with central operations and travel as required during the setup and development phase
