junior cloud engineer

Intellectica is recruiting a Junior Backend Engineer on behalf of a leading technology services group headquartered in Athens, Greece, operating under a hybrid working model. The selected candidate will join a high-performing Engineering team and will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing and supporting cloud solutions that move our clients forward on their journey to the cloud, working hands-on with modern Azure infrastructure from day one.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

Design & Technical Analysis

• Contribute to the technical design process by analyzing client requirements and translating them into practical cloud solutions

• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to evaluate configuration options and recommend the right approach for each use case

Implementation & Delivery

• Configure, deploy and support Azure-based cloud environments in line with technical specifications and best practices

• Execute cloud implementation activities end-to-end and produce clear, structured technical documentation for every project

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Use cloud-native and third-party tools to standardize, automate and continuously improve infrastructure deployment and management processes

• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code practices to make environments repeatable, scalable and easier to maintain over time

• Any other task that may be required from time to time

Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience administering or supporting Linux and/or Windows operating systems

• Solid understanding of cloud computing principles, with practical experience working with the Microsoft Azure platform

• Good knowledge of networking fundamentals, security concepts, and enterprise system integration within cloud-based environments

• Microsoft AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate certification is required

• Additional Microsoft Azure or other cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent) will be considered a plus

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools, preferably Azure DevOps as well as familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible is a strong asset

• Basic understanding of virtualization technologies and modern infrastructure concepts is preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
