Intellectica is recruiting a Due Diligence Director on behalf of its client, a leading professional services firm with a strong presence in Greece and part of a global advisory network. The firm is widely recognised for delivering high-quality transaction and advisory services, supporting clients across complex and high-profile deals in the local and international market.
Based in Athens, the Due Diligence Director will join the Deals team, playing a pivotal role in leading financial due diligence engagements and managing key client relationships. Reporting to a Principal/Partner, the role combines transaction execution, team leadership, and business development responsibilities, offering the opportunity to contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the practice.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
Leading overall financial due diligence engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery, strong client impact, and alignment with commercial objectives
Leading the execution of complex buy-side and sell-side due diligence projects, with focus on quality of earnings, cash flow, working capital, and debt analysis
Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, investors, and advisors, managing relationships throughout the transaction lifecycle
Identifying key risks, opportunities, and value drivers, translating financial findings into clear and commercially relevant recommendations
Overseeing and reviewing analyses, reports, and deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with quality standards
Managing multiple concurrent engagements, ensuring effective planning, resource allocation, and timely delivery
Leading, coaching, and developing a team of approximately 15 professionals, driving performance and continuous development
Collaborating closely with M&A and Valuations teams, supporting integrated deal execution and cross-functional collaboration
Contributing to business development initiatives, including participating in pitches, proposals, and client discussions
Supporting team growth through involvement in recruitment and broader talent development initiatives
Any other task that may be required from time to time
Professional experience & qualifications of a successful candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
Master’s degree and/or professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent) is required
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Transaction Services, Due Diligence, Corporate Finance, or Deal Advisory, ideally within a consulting or professional services environment
Hands-on experience in reviewing and interpreting complex financial data and translating it into meaningful commercial insights
Strong track record in leading end-to-end transaction projects, with exposure to demanding and time-sensitive deal environments
Broader exposure across industries; any combination of advisory and in-house experience will be seen as a plus
Involvement in commercial activities such as supporting proposals, pitches, or client relationship development
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial databases and tools (e.g. Capital IQ, Bloomberg) is a plus
Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken)
Military obligations fulfilled (if applicable)
