cybersecurity system engineer (hybrid)

Our client, a leading international company with about 300 employees worldwide, including 40+ in Greece, is seeking a Cybersecurity System Engineer to strengthen the security posture and contribute to the IT infrastructure for a global leader in water and wastewater innovation for their office either in Thessaloniki or Lucerne (hybrid).

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, build, and maintain secure Azure and Windows infrastructures.

• Define and implement security policies, processes, and technical standards to safeguard the organization’s systems and data.

• Actively monitor IT environments for security threats, plan and perform security assessments.

• Collaborate closely with IT, DevOps, and development teams to embed security into system architectures and application lifecycles.

• Manage security appliances and technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention/detection systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection platforms.

• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for security standards, procedures, and incident handling.

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.

• 2+ years of experience in system engineering with a security focus on Azure and Windows environments.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of network security concepts, cloud security methodologies, risk assessments and compliance (ISO 27001, NIS2, CRA).

• Familiarity with security operations tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms.

• Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills in both Greek and English.

• Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar) is a plus.
