backend developer (hybrid)

Our client, a leading international company with about 300 employees around the world and 40+ of them based in Greece, is looking for a Backend Developer to enhance their team in Thessaloniki.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend components of the provided apps
• Develop server-side solutions to support frontend and mobile apps
• Handle data from IoT devices, ensuring integrity and performance
• Ensure seamless communication between frontend and backend services
• Engage in agile processes using tools within Microsoft’s ecosystem, such as MS Teams and Azure DevOps, for sprint planning, ticket grooming, and daily stand-ups.
• Contribute to backend solutions and platform enhancements
• Collaborate with tech leads and the local team

Candidate profile:

• 4+ years of proven experience in building robust backend systems
• Proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in frameworks like Django or FastAPI
• Strong understanding of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of Git for
• Experience in RESTful APIs design and implementation
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes
• Skills in data science, including machine learning and data analysis is an asset
• Knowledge of advanced database design principles, including normalization, indexing strategies, and performance optimization
• Fluency both in Greek and English; German language skills would be an advantage
