experienced external auditor in financial services

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Experienced External Auditor to join our Financial Services audit team. In this role you will work with clients in the financial sector including banking, insurance, asset management, investment funds, securities, delivering high – quality audit services in a fast paced and evolving regulatory environment, working in teams of qualified and highly motivated audit professionals.

You will play a key role in planning and executing audits and mentoring juniors team members. This will be a unique opportunity to deepen your experience in financial services and grow within a global, high-performing audit practice.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Leading or supporting the planning, execution, and completion of external audits for financial services clients

• Reviewing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP

• Assessing internal controls and identifying areas of risk or improvement

• Supervising and coaching junior auditors, providing guidance and feedback

• Liaising with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and communicate audit findings

• Ensuring compliance with auditing standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements

• Contributing to the development of audit strategies and innovative approaches

• Staying informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks

• Participating in internal and external training and development programs

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or relevant field

• Part qualification (ACA/ACCA/ΙΕΣΟΕΛ) or a master’s degree in relevant field will be considered as an asset

• Solid understanding of IFRS and local GAAP

• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in auditing, preferably within the financial services sector (banking, insurance, asset management, investment funds, securities)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

• Good organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Ability to communicate both in Greek & in English and an experienced user of MS Office

• Fulfilled obligations imposed by legislation on military service
