Role Summary:

Overall, the UI Designer role in an industrial applications company in the marine industry is responsible for designing user interfaces that meet user needs, business goals, and technical constraints, while staying up to date with the latest design trends and technologies. Successful candidates will have strong design skills, experience with design software, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality UI designs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Design user interfaces for industrial applications in the marine industry that meet user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

· Conduct user research to identify user needs and preferences and use this information to inform design decisions.

· Create wireframes and prototypes to visualize and communicate the structure and layout of the design.

· Develop high-quality, visually appealing designs that are consistent with brand standards and guidelines.

· Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to ensure the UI design is implemented effectively.

· Conduct usability testing to identify any issues with the design that may negatively impact the user experience and use feedback to improve the design.

· Stay up to date with the latest UI design trends, techniques, and technologies.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as graphic design, human-computer interaction, or computer science.

· Proven experience as a UI Designer, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates a strong understanding of UI design principles, tools, and techniques.

· Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.

· Excellent visual design skills, with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

· Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience designing user interfaces for industrial applications (AVEVA Wonderware, Ignition ect.).

· Basic knowledge of front-end programming.

· Basic knowledge in 3D modeling and visualization software such as Blender or 3DS Max.

· Experience with latest virtual interaction technologies (VR, AR, HoloLens)

· Knowledge of back-end development technologies such as SQL or Python to facilitate effective communication with developers.

Knowledge of marine industry-specific regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
