The Payroll Coordinator/Specialist will be responsible for processing and managing the hotel's payroll operations efficiently and accurately. This role will ensure all employees are compensated correctly and on time, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
What you will do
- Prepare and process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all hotel employees, including salaried, hourly, and tipped staff.
- Review and verify timekeeping records, attendance, and paid time off requests to ensure accurate payroll calculations.
- Ensure payroll compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local tax laws, and maintain knowledge of current payroll and tax regulations.
- Generate payroll reports, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and contributions for internal and external audits, management review, and compliance purposes.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records, including electronic and paper files, ensuring all employee information is up-to-date and secure.
What you bring
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of labor laws and payroll regulations, including social security contributions, taxes, and employee protection laws.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and software (e.g., Scan Hrms, Self Service Epsilon Net).
- 1-2 years of experience in payroll or a similar accounting role.
- Ability to work with deadlines and manage a heavy workload.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Microsoft Office high proficiency.
