data engineer

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines to support analytical and operational business needs.

Reporting to the Data & Analytics Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for:

• Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databrick

• Implementing ETL/ELT processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources

• Collaborating with data analysts, front-end developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements

• Leveraging Microsoft Fabric for unified data management and analytics across environments

• Writing efficient and reliable code using SQL and PySpark to process large volumes of data

• Applying best practices in data governance, security, and pipeline monitoring

Qualifications & Competencies required:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Degree in Information Technology or related field will be considered as an asset) 

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar job position

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and its capabilities

• Strong knowledge of SQL and PySpark

• Experience with data lake and data warehouse architectures (e.g., ADLS, Lakehouse)

• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams

• Proficiency in English (written and spoken)

• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset

• Achievement drive, initiative taking and problem-solving skills 

• Willing to learn and embrace new technologies 

Qualifications considered as an asset:

• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate)

• Experience with CI/CD practices for data pipeline deployments

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools in Azure (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)

• Familiarity with Power BI
