reinsurance associate

We are looking for a Reinsurance associate with a P&C background to join our team in a company of our group. The candidate will need to be able to use his/her in-depth knowledge of risks and the insurance market to find suitable insurance policies and arrange cover propositions assisting the product development process. Confident, articulate, and professional communication skills with an excellent grasp of the English language (both written & verbal) are a prerequisite.  

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Build and maintain relationships with reinsurance partners
• Monitoring market trends, emerging risks, and competitive landscape in the reinsurance industry.
• Assist in placing reinsurance treaties across all lines of business, according to the company’s risk mitigation policy
• Conduct and manage reinsurance statistics reporting & all relevant administrative requirements
• Structure and streamline operational reinsurance processes
• Co-operate with the underwriting team to arrange insurance coverage, and submit the details to the reinsurers
• Liaise with re-insurance companies to define policy structure and negotiate to find the most suitable insurance at the best terms
• Ensure application of the reinsurance treaty terms and conditions to underlying products (original Insurance policies)

Candidate profile

• Self-motivated individual with the ability to undertake initiatives, prioritize appropriately, and embrace challenges
• Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
• Excellent time management and ability to deliver on strict project deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional command of the English language
• Reinsurance treaty, policy, and contract interpretation experience
• Ability to build relationships with Reinsurers
• Understanding of the reinsurance market and traditional structures
• Analytical mindset and ability to structure and simplify operational reinsurance tasks & processes
• Relevant working experience (minimum 3-5yrs)
• Master’s degree and /or participation in Reinsurance seminars will be considered a plus
• Ability to travel for work

Working experience: 3 to 5 years
