Key Accountabilities

Role Description: 

The IT Applications Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, support, development, and optimization of business and enterprise applications across the organization. Collaborating closely with internal end-users, technical IT teams, and external vendors, the IT Applications Engineer ensures smooth day-to-day operations software applications to meet business needs.

Main Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering and Analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and identify potential improvements or enhancements to existing applications and platforms
• Implementation Coordination
• Manage effectively project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure successful implementation
• Work cross-functionally with stakeholders and vendors to facilitate collaboration across departments
• Identify dependencies, align goals, and drive effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Testing and Quality Assurance
• Perform unit testing of configured modules and customizations to ensure alignment with business requirements
• Document test cases and support stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Training and Documentation
• Conduct training sessions to ensure effective adoption and use of applications
• Maintain up-to-date documentation including user manuals, configuration guides, and technical specifications
• Maintenance and Support
• Provide ongoing support to internal application users, including troubleshooting of issues as well as implementation of minor enhancements
• Monitor system performance through regular health checks and proactively address any issues

Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar)
• Experience in application development using languages such as .NET C#, Java, or scripting web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
• Experience with system integration e.g. APIs (REST, SOAP)
• Familiarity with Enterprise systems is considered a plus (e.g. SAP ERP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
• Experience with Ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms
• Fluent in both written and verbal English and Greek
