The Junior Platform Engineer – Store Operations supports the stability and performance of the technology platforms that power our retail stores. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates eager to learn and grow their technical skills while working closely with experienced engineers and store operations teams.

Responsibilities
Assist in monitoring and maintaining store-level platforms to support high availability and performance
Provide initial (Tier 1/Tier 2) technical support for store operations teams, helping troubleshoot basic issues related to data flows, system performance, and integrations
Work with vendors and internal teams to help resolve platform incidents and minimize disruption to store operations
Learn and apply basic concepts of relational databases, including writing simple queries, performing data validation, and supporting ETL processes under supervision
Develop an understanding of integration patterns (such as APIs, flat files, and message queues) to support system connections
Support engineering teams in implementing and testing integrations between store systems and enterprise platforms
Assist in documenting system flows, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Participate in on-call rotation for critical store systems, with guidance from senior team members
Contribute to root-cause analysis and suggest improvements for system stability
Communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Provide training and technical guidance to cross-functional teams as needed, with support from senior engineers
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience (students in their final year or recent graduates are welcome)
Basic knowledge of SQL (ability to write simple queries and perform data validation)
Interest in supporting distributed systems or platforms
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn troubleshooting in complex environments
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in English
Nice to have
Exposure to system integration methods (REST/SOAP APIs, message queues, flat-file transfer, ETL pipelines, event-driven architectures)
Experience (internships, projects, or coursework) with technologies in retail, grocery, or high-volume operational environments
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience with monitoring tools (even at a basic level)
Knowledge of POS systems, inventory platforms, or store workforce/operations tools
Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD processes
