The Greek leading Biscuits & Bakery company Ε.J. PAPADOPOULOS S.A. is seeking to employ a talented, experienced, driven & committed Research & Development Scientist to join the R&D team in Athens, reporting to the R&D Manager The role: Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the R&D activities required to complete new product development, portfolio maintenance and/or productivity projects with an emphasis on meeting the desired taste and quality. How you will contribute: With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with RD, quality, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practices and HACCP requirements and development activities. You will also write technical reports that will require the analysis and interpretation of results and that lead to conclusions and recommendations. What you will bring: A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge: Food Science & Technology - A minimum of 5 years experience in the food industry, preferably in an R&D environment developing and/or reformulating products Prioritizing and managing activities Identifying problems proactively and creating and implementing solutions independently Applying fundamental technical understanding to interpret and analyze data to reach clear conclusions Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, including technical writing Hands-on experience in both a pilot plant and a production environment Computer proficiency, including use of standard MS Office applications and SAP High degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for managing and delivering R&D elements of product and process development projects. Including project tracking and reporting: From brief to first production approval, preparing development proposals, time lines, ingredients research, development experiments & write up; The role develops strong relationships within function and cross functionally. Acts as a technological resource or as an expert in own technical /scientific area. Work as a part of an efficient development team you will be expected to work in an organised manner within tight deadlines to ensure that projects are delivered within expected time scales. Leverage available resources and resolve problems with a team approach. Ensures that all activities are performed in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures.
