Our Client is a leading organization in the insurance and digital innovation sector is seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer. The role involves providing technical leadership across multiple AI/ML-driven projects, supporting a small team of Machine Learning engineers, and ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of existing Python and Django-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Provide guidance and best practices to a team of Python and ML engineers across 2–3 active projects.

• Review, refactor, and optimise existing Python code, functions, and modules.

• Ensure strong engineering principles, maintainability, and clean architecture in all deliverables.

Application Development & Maintenance

• Improve and stabilise production systems built with Python and Django.

• Enhance existing Django APIs, project structure, and application logic.

• Troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth behaviour of ML-backed features in production.

AI/ML Project Support

• Collaborate closely with Machine Learning engineers on data cleansing, routing logic, and operationalisation of ML models.

• Contribute to the improvement of AI workflows related to healthcare data processing and automotive case routing.

DevOps & Deployment

• Support CI/CD processes and assist in maintaining reliable deployment pipelines.

• Perform debugging, monitoring, and optimisation in production environments.

• Work with containerised environments (Docker) and implement best practices around deployment and operational stability.

Requirements

Must-Have

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python in a production environment.

• Strong expertise in Django (APIs, project structure, models, ORM).

• Proven ability to review, refactor, and stabilise existing codebases.

• Experience collaborating with ML/AI teams or supporting ML-driven systems in production.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and deployment workflows.

• Ability to work independently and take technical ownership of projects.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in the insurance, healthcare, or automotive domain.

• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and model operationalization.

• Knowledge of cloud-based environments and monitoring tools.
