Our client is a leading company in the oil and gas sector and currently seeking a Junior Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business partners across all levels of the organization to understand their operations, system challenges, and opportunities to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its strategic priorities and goals.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and compile a detailed project plan, including tasks, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress and expenses and ensure they align with the budget. Manage projects and ensure that changes are properly assessed with respect to their impact on project timelines and budget, documented, and approved.
- Manage external vendors or contractors as needed, motivate and manage team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Schedule monthly, weekly, or daily meetings with the project team to monitor progress by checking off on each individual task and due date.
- Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project success and develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans while closely monitoring and managing risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that projects and their deliverables adhere to relevant compliance & security standards, internal policies, and procedures.
- Communicate project objectives, status, and updates to stakeholders, including executives, team members, and partners. Facilitate regular project meetings to ensure alignment and progress tracking, resolve conflicts, and address issues as they arise.
- Ensure that stakeholders complete, test, and accept project deliverables before handing the project to the IT operational team.
- Close out projects and evaluate results during post-project review. Establish and record lessons learned.
Competences:
- Possess the ability to identify, engage, and manage stakeholders effectively. This includes understanding their needs, maintaining clear communication, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Exhibit critical thinking to weigh alternatives and present solutions consistent with the business strategy that optimizes risks, benefits, and potential value.
- Strong foundation in project management principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, etc.), and best practices. This includes proficiency in project planning, scheduling, risk management, and scope management.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure components, such as servers, networks, and cloud services, to manage projects involving infrastructure changes or upgrades.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively with nontechnical and technical business, ICT, and external teams.
- Excellent use of English language (written/verbal).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project.
Educational Level:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Master’s degree would be an asset.
Other Knowledge:
- Project Manager certification (e.g., PMP, CSM, PRINCE2, IAPM-CAPM etc.) will be considered a plus.
- Experience with procurement processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiation when external vendors or suppliers are involved in the project.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Microsoft Business Central, Azure, and Billing systems.
- Familiarity with the Energy & Utilities business domain.
Work Experience:
- 2+ years of experience serving as a Project Manager.
- 2+ years of experience with Agile (Scrum/ Kanban) or traditional SDLC frameworks and methodologies
