technical officer - pms

Monitoring and maintaining records of vessels completed / overdue PMS items. Keeping the respective Fleet Managers and Technical Superintendents fully appraised. Assist vessels and the technical teams in their purchasing and service requirements as required. Ensure full usage of the company software and IT platforms. Ensure OHSE, Energy and Environmental compliance policies are upheld.

Key Accountabilities:

Support to end-users

• Responsible for the installation, implementation, upgrading and maintaining of PMS systems on vessels.

• Providing operational support for on-going PMS database updated and requests for PMS and PMS-related information. Giving necessary guidance/trouble-shooting and assistance on PMS to the ship staff.

• Conducting necessary training and familiarisation to ship/shore staff on the use and maintenance of PMS.

• Responsible for assisting with the day to day monitoring of the computerised PMS across the Technical Fleet, investigating faults and upgrading the system. Assisting vessels and the Technical teams for the purchasing / on board service required by the vessels.

• Involved in assisting with specific technical projects, guiding personnel to correct abnormal data, performing corrections and routine PMS.

Improve IT Services 

• ​Assists, participates and monitors the execution of maintenance, systems upgrades and/or the deployment of new systems in order to ensure the provision of high quality services according to needs.
  

Requirements

Education & Work Experience:

• Diploma in IT/Marine Engineering, or equivalent

• 3 years’ experience with hands on experience in PMS and good IT skills
  

• Experience working in a shipping company handling a similar system

Job Specific Skills:

• Very good knowledge of all the systems operating within the company
  

• Willing to travel whenever required
  

• Good communication and management skills
  

• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  

• Fluency in English
  

• PC literacy
