RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise, develop, and maintain an ongoing maintenance operation for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, guestrooms, air/heating units, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, electrical substations, etc.

Maintains hotel by performing painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.

• Ensure that all departmental reports and correspondence are completed punctually and accurately
• Assist with development of policies within the maintenance department as needed
• Assist in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, training and development
• Assist with departmental orientation programs for new employees to ensure they understand the policies and operations of the resort
• Ensure that all staff provide a courteous and professional service at all times
• Counsel staff members for any breaches of conduct and observe policies when issuing formal disciplinary notice
• Constantly review and appraise the procedures with the department to ensure a high level of productivity at all times
• Monitor the staff skills within the department and plan training program to rectify any service deficiencies
• Conduct regular briefings with the department staff ensuring good communications at all times
• Ensure that overtime within the department is minimized and authorized
• Evaluate staffing levels in accordance with business demand, providing recommendations for adjustments whenever possible
• Maintain and enforce all quality and service standards and procedures for engineering/ maintenance services, including preventative maintenance programs.
• Any other duties as directed by management

QUALIFICATIONS

About the Successful Candidate

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent is required

Work experience as a Chief Engineer or a similar senior level position in a resort environment for at least 5 years

Expansive knowledge in electrical maintenance, boilers, and heating and cooling systems

Excellent delegation and Project Management Skills

Must be a certified pool operator or able to obtain certification

Knowledge of various utilities such as solar plants, water treatment, propane, natural well water pump and filtration, residential development, infrastructure upkeep (roads), F&LS installation

This role is based at our Amanzoe in the greater Porto Heli Area - Greece. While we are open to applications from international candidates, we ask that you already possess the right to live and work in Greece without the need for a company-supported work permit.
