Alpha Bank is currently seeking a Treasury Financial Control Specialist to join Bank’s Treasury Middle Office Business Area, which is responsible for the financial monitoring of Treasury products (securities, derivatives, money market instruments). The Area acts as the interface between Front-Office, Operations, IT and Reporting Units ensuring accuracy of transaction data, efficient workflow of information in the systems supporting Treasury products and compliance with rules, procedures and reporting guidelines. This role entails supporting internal and external reporting while ensuring data accuracy.

 

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines managing multiple stakeholders. He/She will be a versatile individual, with a thorough understanding of the lifecycles of the products traded as well as of the systems and reporting mechanisms required to enable full control and supply of accurate and appropriate information.

 


What you will be doing

 

  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data related to Treasury transactions.
  • Perform controls to ensure reconciliation between front office and accounting systems.
  • Work closely with front office, back office and IT to resolve control issues.
  • Ensure proper implementation of accounting rules regarding securities’ classification and hedging.
  • Support financial reporting in relation to trading and treasury activities.
  • Contribute to the definition of business requirements and participate in User Acceptance Tests in Treasury related projects.
  • Support internal and external audit process.

 


What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, or any other related field of study.
  • A Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields of study is preferred.
  • At least five (5) years’ of related professional experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced use of the MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent command of the English and the Greek language (both written and spoken).
  • Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with high attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement/lifelong learning mindset.
