As a Regulatory Requirements Specialist will join the RWAs, Pillar I Metrics and Regulatory Liquidity team of the Capital Management and Banking Supervision Business Area of the Alpha Bank Group.

 

You should be self-motivated, organized, collaborative, as well as able to deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines. Additionally, you should possess attention to detail, problem solving skills and solid analytical thinking for the structuring of regulatory Common Reporting (COREP) submissions, the drawing of insights from large amounts of data and identification of relevant patterns.

 


What you will be doing

 

  • Understand the regulatory framework as defined in the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) (EU) No 575/2013 and applied to the calculation of Risk Weighted Assets (RWAs) under Pillar I.
  • Examine regulatory changes and developments (CRR, Basel IV, BCBS239) related to capital management, monitoring, and reporting by regularly finding relevant information on the regulatory bodies’ websites.
  • Prepare COREP submissions and other relevant comprehensive reports as well as understand and develop reporting requirements in the context of the Credit and Counterparty Credit Risk, Securitization Risk, Large Exposures and Leverage Ratio.
  • Identify potential process improvements and capabilities for increasing consistency, transparency, reliability of RWAs calculation, governance, and controls process.
  • Execute a series of operational support tasks (e.g., communication with external and internal collaborators, setting up meetings, following up on deliverables).
  • Collect data and information, ensuring respective consistency and completeness. Prepare and update reports, presentations, dashboards and other data with key insights to be presented to the General Management and the competent Committees of the Bank, using analytical and visualization tools (e.g., SAS, Excel, QlikView).
  • Participate in the planning of major projects and key reports, including the development of project charters, scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

 


 What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g. Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or Business) or in any other related discipline (a Master’s Degree will be considered a plus).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in banking or in a major consulting firm, participating in projects for the banking and/or the financial services industry.
  • Participation in RWA calculation projects will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one or more of the following indicative regulatory reports will be considered an asset: FINREP, COREP, EBA Stress Tests, Asset Quality Review (AQR).
  • Significant experience with the Basel Standardized Approach rules, specifically those pertaining to RWA requirements, will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and to implement changes.
  • Familiarity with big data analysis, supported by experience in data analysis and reporting (Microsoft SQL, SPSS) will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek language (both written and spoken).
