Aksia is seeking an investment research associate to join our Private Credit Investment team. This role will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities, performing due diligence, preparing investment recommendations and related analyses, along with monitoring portfolio holdings and prevailing market dynamics. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of the private credit ecosystem – this could include a research / analysis position across leveraged finance, real estate lending, distressed / special situations investing or similar. Candidates with both primary fund investing experience and direct investing experience will be considered.
Aksia LLC is a specialist investment research and portfolio advisory firm providing alternative investment solutions to institutional investors. Aksia’s private credit platform has experienced considerable growth over the past decade and totals over $119 billion in assets under advisory and management (as of January 31st, 2024).
This position will be based in Aksia's Athens office and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing, screening, and analyzing investments in private-credit focused private funds, direct credits and co-investments
- Leading due diligence and documentation of primary, co-investment and opportunistic investments
- Evaluating and presenting views on specific investment opportunities and sectors of the credit markets directly to Aksia clients and prospective clients
- Monitoring clients’ and Aksia-managed private markets investments and portfolios
- Authoring private markets focused research
- Helping manage and train junior team members
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in credit or investment related roles, or related leveraged finance experience
- Strong financial modeling, analysis and underwriting skills
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with limited oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attentive to detail
- Ability to think analytically and critically
- Strong excel skills
