Viking was founded in 1997 with the vision that travel could be more destination focused and culturally immersive.

The company expanded into the American market in 2000, establishing a sales and marketing office in Los Angeles, California. Since then, Viking has grown to a fleet of more than 90 vessels, offering river, ocean and expedition voyages on all seven continents. OCEAN - Laundry Staff

The Senior Hotel Manager (SHM) is part of the Viking River Cruises (VRC) Corporate team. The purpose of this role is to develop the position holder into a Corporate Operations Manager (COM) in the long term. The timeline of this development is dependent on the proficiency of the candidate and the needs of the company. Once completed, the COM is the main responsible manager for an operation consisting of approximately 10-16 upscale hotel ships. Together with a team of functional corporate managers reporting to them, the COM leads an entire regional area.&nbsp;During the first part of the talent development program you will partly act as Relief Hotel Manager onboard our river fleet in order to get familiar and acquainted with Viking, our standards and the different operations. In addition, you will be progressively involved in corporate tasks assigned by the Directors Onboard Operations. Among other tasks this could include participation in corporate meetings, conferences and leadership trainings, project assignments and taking over holiday relief periods from other COMs.&nbsp;In the second stage, the candidate will no longer act as a Hotel Manager, but will be fully integrated into the Corporate Team, with the goal of acting as a full holiday relief for all COMs in all operations, and to build up further experience.&nbsp;The talent development program outlined above is an indication, subject to business needs, and will be tailored together with the candidate depending on their individual professional experience and education. When acting as a Hotel Manager, the candidate will report to the respective COM. RIVER - Senior Hotel Manager

OCEAN - Head Waiter

OCEAN - Executive Chef

Part of our Hotel Administration team on our Ocean vessels, the Hotel General Manager manages the entire Hotel Operation, this includes coordinating and leadingthe Hotel Department Heads onboard. Set the standard among the team and ensure that all crew delivers service, in accordance with Viking’s STAR Service Standard.
