The Department of Communication, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree-The American College of Greece is looking for a Full-Time Faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on qualifications.The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and practical expertise in at least one of the department’s four areas of study, with preference given to those with experience in more than one:<ul><li>Advertising Communication</li><li>Journalism and Media Studies</li><li>Audiovisual Communication and Film Studies</li><li>Public Relations</li></ul>Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses</li><li>Conducting research in one or more of the areas listed above</li><li>Contributing to curriculum development</li><li>Participating in departmental and institutional service</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>PhD related to one or more of our four areas of study.</li><li>Track record of publications and/or grant funding.</li><li>Eligibility for Ministry of Education registration number.</li></ul>Required Knowledge &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Proficient knowledge in the broader field of communication and at least one of our four areas of study.</li><li>Strong understanding of the communication industry and related professional practices in one or more of the four areas</li><li>Clearly defined research interests and expertise in one or more of the four areas</li><li>Teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate levels, preferably at a US or UK higher education institution.</li></ul>Desired Knowledge and Experience:<ul><li>Experience in the communication industry, especially in one or more of our four areas of study.</li><li>Knowledge of digital media communication and of the use of digital technologies</li><li>Administrative experience as area/programme coordinator or director of studies.</li><li>Experience in course and curriculum design and development.</li><li>Experience in accreditation or validation of academic programmes.</li></ul>General Skills:<ul><li>Dependability.</li><li>Strong commitment to student-centered learning.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills.</li><li>Outstanding command of spoken and written English.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.</li></ul>Application Deadline:&nbsp;The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.Anticipated Start Date:&nbsp;September 1, 2025Application Instructions:&nbsp;Applicants should complete the online application and include the following materials:<ul><li>A cover letter describing previous related experience and scholarly interests.</li><li>A current CV.</li><li>Contact details (name, e-mail address, telephone number of at least three persons who have known you in a professional or research context).</li></ul>
