WINGS ICT Solutions is looking for a Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Db2 databases, ensuring high performance, security, and data integrity.
The main responsibilities will involve:
Design, implement, and maintain complex Db2 databases, including creating data models, schemas, and storage structures.
Optimize Db2 database performance through monitoring, analysis, and tuning, implementing effective indexing strategies, and resolving bottlenecks.
Ensure data security and integrity by implementing robust access controls, managing user privileges, and developing backup and recovery plans.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Db2 databases into larger data-driven solutions, such as data warehousing, business intelligence, and data analytics platforms.
Stay current with Db2 updates, new features, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve database management processes.
Qualifications:
Educational requirements:
BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant field.
Desired experience and skills:
Extensive experience in Db2 Database Administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Expertise in SQL programming, including advanced querying and data manipulation techniques.
Familiarity with database design principles and data modeling techniques.
Proven experience in performance tuning, including identifying and resolving database bottlenecks.
Strong understanding of database security best practices and compliance requirements.
Working knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, disaster planning, and data restoration.
Basic understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence, and data analytics concepts.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl), and cloud computing technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous learning mindset to stay updated on industry trends and Db2 advancement.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Native or fluent Greek, oral and written
