WINGS is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join its product expansion internationally and locally.

The successful candidate will participate in the development and deployment of RESTful APIs and web services, as well as in improving our existing services.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:

• Develop and deploy scalable RESTful APIs and web services using Node.js

• Build and maintain features by integrating backend services

• Write clean, testable code following standards and participate in team code reviews

• Enhance and optimize existing services of products for performance and scalability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute to technical design

• Ensure smooth deployment and operation of services in collaboration with other teams (Product Management, Frontend, DevOps etc.)

• Resolve production issues promptly

Educational requirements

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering/ Information Technologies/ Computer Science or an equivalent field.

Essential technical skills

• 4+ years of proven coding experience as a Backend Engineer

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and hands-on experience with Node.js

• Experience working with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)

• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs

• Experience with Docker and deployment to cloud platforms is a plus

Other Qualifications:

• Native or fluent Greek (spoken and written). Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
