About the job
The University of Nicosia invites applications for the role of Student Affairs Officer for our upcoming Athens campus. This role is central to enhancing the student experience by offering a broad range of support services, coordinating developmental activities, and promoting student wellbeing and engagement within the university community.
*Subject to meeting all regulatory and legal requirements in Cyprus and Greece.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support Services
- Provide holistic support to students to enhance their academic, personal, and social development.
- Assist students in adapting to university life and integrating into the campus and local community.
- Assist students in securing accommodation.
- Address and manage student concerns and complaints in a confidential, respectful, and solution-focused manner.
Student Engagement & Activities
- Initiate, plan, and implement projects independently and collaboratively.
- Organize orientation sessions, welcome events, workshops, and seminars for new students.
- Plan and manage extracurricular activities, including cultural, social, academic, and sports events.
- Support and advise student clubs, encouraging student involvement and participation in university life.
Career and Skills Development
- Coordinate career development events and activities such as seminars, workshops, guest speaker sessions, and networking opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support for students’ professional and personal growth.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with academic and administrative departments to support students’ overall success.
- Prepare reports, evaluate student welfare services, and recommend improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, Education, Psychology, Social Work or in any other related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in student services, student affairs, or student development.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven experience in event organization and student support programs.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Strong IT proficiency.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies, including AI tools.
- Fluency in both Greek and English.
