The Department of Social Sciences offers nine programmes in Psychology, Social Work, and Criminology. Specifically, it provides Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Social Work; Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, School Psychology, Educational Psychology, Criminology, and Social Work; and a Doctoral degree in Psychology.
The Department of Social Sciences at UNIC Athens plans to initially offer the Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
Faculty members play a crucial role in advancing the Department’s research agenda, contributing to its strong research output, including publications in high-impact journals. Social responsibility is a core value, demonstrated through initiatives like the Center for Therapy, Training and Research, which provides mental healthcare services and psychological support to the general public and the university community.
Expression of Interest
UNIC is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from individuals interested in faculty appointments at its School of Humanities and Social Sciences in UNIC Athens.
At this stage, UNIC seeks EOIs for the following fields:
- Cognitive Psychology
- Neuroscience
- Social Psychology
- Developmental Psychology
- Clinical Psychology
- School Psychology
- Educational Psychology
- Industrial/Organizational Psychology
Applications for EOI
Interested candidates should submit the following documents:
- A cover letter stating their area(s) of expertise
- A full Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a complete list of publications
- A one-page research statement describing previous and current research, as well as future plans
- A one-page description of teaching experience
- Two professional reference letters
Candidates should be eligible to work in the European Union/European Economic Area.

Plans for establishment of UNIC Athens
The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is pleased to announce its plans to establish UNIC Athens, marking its potential expansion into Greece. The proposed new campus, currently in the planning stages, will be situated at ‘The Ellinikon’ and is expected to welcome its first cohort of students in the 2025-2026 academic year.
This initiative aims at founding the first foreign University campus in Greece, hosting a number of Schools, including the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
*UNIC's planned expansion is contingent upon meeting all legal and regulatory requirements in both Greece and Cyprus, including full compliance with Greece's law pertaining to the operation of campuses of foreign universities (5094/2024).
