The University of Nicosia invites applications for UNIC Athens Campus for the role of Finance Officer. This position plays a vital role in the daily financial operations of the campus, including managing student financial transactions, handling institutional accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies.
Duties include:
• Handle student registrations and manage financial transactions, including tuition fees and scholarships.
• Update student payment records and provide support in payment collection.
• Communicate with students to resolve financial matters and inquiries.
• Monitoring the instalments of students and contacting them
• Preparing and sending monthly statements of account
• Record and manage financial transactions, including payables and entries.
• Handle tax and social insurance obligations per national regulations.
• Prepare bank transactions and reconciliations
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc administrative and financial reports.
• Support audit processes and produce the necessary documentation.
• General office duties concerning the Department.
Required qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, including Greek Accounting Standards & IFRSs, tax regulations, and fiscal compliance practices.
• Excellent knowledge of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Excel and Word).
• Proficient in ERP software (e.g. SAP)
Personal Attributes:
• Have good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; knowledge of English and Greek are essential.
• Be able to exercise good judgement and work independently, be able to work efficiently and accurately, be able to exercise initiative and work under pressure, and as part of a team.
