What you'll do
- Manage end-to-end recruitment at all levels within the shipping function
- Partner with Hiring Managers to assess talent needs and provide hiring strategy guidance
- Proactively source passive candidates in maritime and shipping talent pools
- Deliver 100% direct hiring without using recruitment agencies or third-party vendors
- Conduct thorough interviews assessing candidates' technical skills and core competencies
- Support internship and early-careers programmes as applicable
- Support hiring needs across other business areas of the firm when required
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and local hiring regulations
- Provide training and guidance on recruitment processes and candidate evaluation best practices to Hiring Managers
- Represent the firm to strengthen visibility within maritime and shipping talent communities
- Support employer branding initiatives to promote the firm's culture and value proposition
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and university career fairs
- Build relationships with maritime academies and professional associations
- Collaborate with the global Talent Acquisition team on initiatives and sharing market insights
Key requirements
- 3+ years' experience
- Recruiting within shipping or commodity trading
- Direct sourcing capability without reliance on agencies
- Familiarity with shipping roles, terminology, and concepts
- ATS platforms (Workday) and LinkedIn Recruiter proficiency
- Leveraging AI tools such as Claude
- Interviewing candidates
- Compliance with employment legislation
- Candidate evaluation frameworks
- Employer branding and partnership with Hiring Managers
- Talent pipeline building and supporting internship programs
- Market insights sharing
