What you'll do
- Provide circulation services including borrowing, returns, renewals, holds, and overdue management
- Catalog new acquisitions and maintain bibliographic information in the library system
- Prepare books and accompanying material for circulation
- Assist students and teachers in using library resources and respond to reference and technical questions
- Sort and shelve library materials to keep print collections well organized and maintained
- Monitor the use of library spaces and equipment to ensure safety and functionality
- Assist in organizing events, displays, and other library activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Key requirements
- 1+ years' experience
- Knowledge of cataloging and encoding standards such as AACR2, RDA, MARC21
- Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification system
- Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral communication skills in English and Greek
- Excellent written communication skills in English and Greek
- Strong attention to detail

The American College of Greece (ACG) is seeking a highly motivated, service-oriented librarian to serve as Senior Specialist at the Kindergarten and Elementary Libraries at the East Campus. The successful candidate will provide various day-to-day circulation and cataloging services to kindergarten and elementary students and teachers.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide circulation services including, borrowing, returns, renewals, holds, overdues etc.
Catalog new acquisitions, maintain bibliographic information in the library system and prepare books and accompanying material for circulation.
Assist students and teachers in using library resources and responds to reference and technical questions.
Sort and shelve library materials and ensures that print collections are well organized and maintained.
Monitor the use of library spaces and equipment to ensure they are safe and functional for students and teachers.
Assist in organizing, events, displays and other activities as needed.
Perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Library Science
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge of cataloging and encoding standards (AACR2, RDA, MARC21)
Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification system
Required Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Greek
Strong computer skills, including solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
