About the job
The Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts at Deree – The American College of Greece is seeking a Part-Time Instructor in Visual Arts, with emphasis on drawing, painting, and figure drawing.
Required Qualifications:
- MA and significant professional experience, or MFA or PhD in a closely related field.
- Ministry of Education Faculty Registry Number (required prior to contract start date).
- Professional practice as a contemporary interdisciplinary artist.
- Ability to teach fundamental courses in color theory, drawing, and figure drawing.
Required Skills:
- Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in English-speaking institutions.
- Emphasis on hand drawing and painting, with the ability to incorporate computer-based applications.
- Demonstrated ability to support students in developing and finalizing interdisciplinary art projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A portfolio (or website) demonstrating professional work is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in delivering art-related projects within the community.
- Ability to teach either Digital Image (Photoshop) or Video Art (Premiere Pro).
- Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, including curatorial, theoretical, and organizational aspects.
- Experience in building collaborations with arts organizations, galleries, museums, schools, and community groups.
