About the job
The Department of Communication, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree-The American College of Greece is looking for a Full-Time Faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on qualifications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and practical expertise in at least one of the department’s four areas of study, with preference given to those with experience in more than one:
- Advertising Communication
- Journalism and Media Studies
- Audiovisual Communication and Film Studies
- Public Relations
Job Responsibilities:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses
- Conducting research in one or more of the areas listed above
- Contributing to curriculum development
- Participating in departmental and institutional service
Required Qualifications:
- PhD related to one or more of our four areas of study.
- Track record of publications and/or grant funding.
- Eligibility for Ministry of Education registration number.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Proficient knowledge in the broader field of communication and at least one of our four areas of study.
- Strong understanding of the communication industry and related professional practices in one or more of the four areas
- Clearly defined research interests and expertise in one or more of the four areas
- Teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate levels, preferably at a US or UK higher education institution.
Desired Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience in the communication industry, especially in one or more of our four areas of study.
- Knowledge of digital media communication and of the use of digital technologies
- Administrative experience as area/programme coordinator or director of studies.
- Experience in course and curriculum design and development.
- Experience in accreditation or validation of academic programmes.
General Skills:
- Dependability.
- Strong commitment to student-centered learning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding command of spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
