Job Responsibilities
The Payroll Manager position covers the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
Complete Payroll process evaluation and recommendations for improvement
Provide managerial support and guidance for payroll activities
Manage payroll and timekeeping systems
Maintain partnerships with various vendors for payroll, timekeeping, garnishments, and governmental agencies.
Solid understanding of employment law, regulatory and legal compliance to address notifications and provide guidance to team of payroll specialist
Completes Payroll reconciliations and designs new reports as needed
Demonstrate positive team performance
Ensure that process service levels are met in accordance with set standards
Ensures that all internal risk and control guidelines are met and executed in every process
Responsible for direct report training programs
Subject matter expert with the ability to apply knowledge of the business to solve strategic payroll issues
Assist in preparation of corporate budgets and annual estimates for salaries and payroll taxes
Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity
Responsible for hiring, determining staffing levels and resource allocation for the Payroll team
Partner with process peers in Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Labor Relations, Corporate Taxes, and related third party vendors to resolve employee questions/issues
Provide key support to the Finance and Accounting group
Fluency with HR policies pertaining to payroll such as overtime, leave, benefits, employee compensation, health and welfare, and retirement benefit administration
Coach and develop payroll team
Conduct meetings with different level contacts and departments as needed.
Manage relation with local Payroll Vendor, bank representative for Payroll Bank account services and government authorities.
Other Related Duties
Participate in projects as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on business or accounting preferred
Experience with computerized payroll processing
Experience with Payroll Vendor management and Workday HR/Payroll systems a plus
Microsoft Excel and Word
Must be detailed oriented
Able to meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate with all levels across the various departments.
Able to work in fast paced and high volume process environment
Diligent in following through to guarantee full completion of task or issue.
