What you'll do
- Operate materials synthesis and processing equipment including vacuum melting furnaces and milling equipment
- Perform powder metallurgy operations including weighing, mixing, compaction, and thermal processing of metallic powders
- Handle fine and reactive powders inside inert-atmosphere gloveboxes maintaining oxygen and moisture control
- Perform basic wet-chemistry steps such as weighing, dissolution, filtration, solvent evaporation, and drying
- Prepare samples for material characterization using techniques like XRD, SEM/EDS, PSD, density, and chemical analysis
- Operate metallic material testing equipment for physical, thermal, and functional property evaluation
- Identify and report anomalies in samples, processes, or test results
- Support process development trials by preparing batches, logging data accurately, and maintaining traceability
- Maintain lab equipment and supplies ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Work within ATEX-classified zones following safe-work procedures, PPE requirements, and equipment restrictions
- Follow lab safety procedures and PPE requirements for handling fine powders, high-temperature equipment, and reactive materials
