lab technician - ceramic materials development

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician with experience working in an analytical lab. In this role, you will work closely with process engineers and materials scientists in the hands-on preparation and processing of ceramic materials at the lab and pilot scale.

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including ball mills, attritors, spray dryers, sieves, furnaces, and presses used for ceramic powder preparation and processing.
• Prepare ceramic slurries and green bodies through processes such as mixing, extrusion, pressing, and casting.
• Perform thermal processing operations such as drying, debinding, and sintering of ceramic parts using programmable high-temperature furnaces.
• Conduct sample preparation for material characterization techniques including XRD, SEM, particle size analysis (PSD), BET, and density measurements.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions to ensure consistency and repeatability in experimental runs and data collection.
• Accurately record, analyze, and communicate process data and observations; highlight anomalies or deviations to engineers.
• Produce detailed reports, based on material characterization, to communicate results to the broader team.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab workspace in accordance with 5S and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) guidelines.

Τι θα έχετε μαζί σας

• Degree or diploma in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience in laboratory or manufacturing environments.
• 1–3 years of experience in a ceramics, powder metallurgy, or advanced materials laboratory or production setting.
• Familiarity with handling fine powders and understanding of powder behavior
• Experience with high-temperature equipment and knowledge of ceramic sintering and phase transformations is a plus.
• Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, quality, and production teams, and to adapt to evolving priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
