What you'll do
- Program, setup, and operate manual and CNC grinding machines and a 3-axis CNC milling machine
- Machine complex components with tight tolerances using various materials
- Cut raw materials, build and install tooling, setup fixtures, run CNC programs, and complete finishing operations
- Use inspection and measurement tools to validate work accuracy
- Track and document machining processes and results when necessary
- Collaborate openly with engineers and team members, communicating verbally, via email, phone, and electronic channels
- Perform equipment calibration
- Complete required preventive maintenance tasks
- Provide feedback on manufacturing methods and technologies
- Collaborate with design engineers to understand design intent and work towards effective solutions
- Conduct experiments following safety, quality, and efficiency standards with guidance
- Manage suppliers to execute projects according to design specifications and timelines
- Create and define supplier technical and quality requirements based on project needs
- Design fixtures and equipment for prototype and production testing
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
Key requirements
- 5+ years' experience
- CNC mill CAM programming and CNC milling or grinding operating experience
- Engineering drawings, documents, and GD&T knowledge
- Measurement tools expertise including calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, bore gauges, optical comparator
- Material machinability, material selection, and material removal processes knowledge
- Tooling and work-holding solutions identification and procurement
- Innovation, technical excellence, attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication skills
- English fluency for speaking, reading, and writing
- Mechanical Engineeringpreferred
