What you'll do
- Assess the feasibility and commercial potential of new sites
- Ascertain extraction risks
- Produce models or plans for potential mining sites
- Plan and implement extraction systems
- Use specialist computer applications to optimize planning and production
- Manage mining operations
- Ensure operations comply with health and safety requirements
- Ensure equipment used is safe
- Train and supervise staff
- Liaise with and advise managerial and technical staff

Key requirements
- Mining engineering, quarry operations and mining site feasibility assessment
- Extraction risk assessment, mining planning and extraction systems implementation
- Mining operations management and mining software applications
- Data analysis and Microsoft Applications
- English language proficiency
- Health and safety compliance, equipment safety, record keeping, and staff training and supervision
- Mining Engineering / Mineral Resources Engineering
